Why is hand reading poker's #1 skill?
For a few reasons:
1) Hand reading requires that you play the player, not just your hole cards and the board. This emphasis on your opponent forces you to take into account as much information as possible about them and the situation to make a relevant read on their hand strength. This allows you to "read their souls" and make profitable plays against them.
2) Hand reading improves your study efficiency. In your studies, you have the time and tools like Flopzilla Pro at your disposal to get into the logic of your opponent's decisions. This will build an intuition for hand reading you'll use in-game to make more profitable plays against every opponent you face.
3) Hand reading allows you to use more information in your reads and plays. Poker's a game of incomplete information. However, there are so many bits of info that we overlook in each hand. Things like bet sizing, player tendencies, preflop ranges and how they interact with the board, stack sizes, player positions, actions taken and NOT taken, table image and so much more! Hand reading will teach you to use every bit of information you have at your disposal in every hand you play.
Is Flopzilla Pro necessary to own for this course?
Yes, you must own a Flopzilla Pro license to get the most from this course. Without it, you can't do hand reading as effectively or efficiently. Plus, besides the hand reading exercises, the other exercises in this book revolve around ranges and how they interact with the board, and Flopzilla Pro is the best software for this analysis.

How long will this workbook take to complete?
If you spend just 30 minutes per day doing the work, it should take a little over a month, ~35-40 days. You can learn the basic hand reading steps in just the first day (part 1 of the workbook). However, doing the work every day with a hand reading exercise (from the workbook or one from your own history of hands) will cement the hand reading strategies into your skillset and allow you to use them in-game to make reads and exploits.
My top tip is to NOT speed through this workbook. Take your time and thoroughly learn hand reading by completing every exercise, taking every quiz and hand read your own hands along the way.
Will you walk me through the Workbook?

What if I'm not tech savvy? Learning new software (like Flopzilla Pro) is daunting.
I understand the feeling and that's why the first two parts of the workbook give exercises that are designed to build your confidence and skills with Flopzilla Pro. Anyone can complete this workbook even with little to no Flopzilla Pro experience.
Everything was going great until the beginning of August when I had one of the worst 11 sessions I probably ever had. Two of my biggest losing days ever. And killed two months of profit in 11 days.
As you probably know my confidence was a little shaken. I thought I was really good.
I decided I need to get back to some more off the felt study time. So, I decided to do 2 hand readings every day from that day.
Well, so far it's been a big success. I turned things around in August and am having a banner month in September. Was it all the hand reading? Probably Not. But I definitely have been seeing some of the benefits of hand reading while I am playing. I am paying much more attention to certain stats and ranges. Overall, I just see my play is better and more consistent. Definitely the hand reading has helped. It may be true what you say about hand reading being the single most beneficial skill.
